Mentoring

As one of our Five “Pillars”, mentoring is an important part of our work at The Chicago Wisdom Project. Our mentors are volunteers who not only allow a young person to have a positive relationship with an elder, but also–because our mentors specialize in the area on which the student has chosen to focus the creative project–help the student to learn new skills.

We are currently looking for volunteer mentors in the following areas:

• Pottery
• Visual Arts
• Video/film
• Hip hop music production
• Rap
• Poetry
• Gardening
• Community activism

If you don’t feel that you have these specific skills, don’t be discouraged.  Please tell us what skills and interests you have and we will surely be able to find a good fit.
